About
Driven by Passion
Eric is driven to make his dream of becoming a professional race car driver a reality. He was new to karting in 2020 at the age of 17, participating in an Arrive & Drive program. In 2021, he jumped into ROK Senior, placing 3rd at the club level and 5th at the regional level. The 2022 season was split between karting and pursuing his SCCA and FIA International D licenses.
2023 was an exciting year for Eric. He made his debut in cars, racing in the FEL Motorsports Sports Car Championship Canada (SCCC) series, in the TCA Class, finishing the season as Vice Champion.
Eric was also the recipient of the 2023 SCCC Spirit of Motorsport Award. In 2024, Eric will return to SCCC and hopes to move into US racing in 2025.
Fueled by Resilience
Motorsport is beyond a passion. Eric has an extremely rare disease and ironically, this adrenaline-inducing sport provides respite from his chronic pain. He says it feels like his illness disappears the moment the tires start to roll, and the heavy worries are replaced with immense joy, along with an enormous amount of gratitude for the privilege to race.
In addition to pursuing a career in racing, Eric is a SickKids Patient Ambassador and founder of Driven Living, a not-for-profit organization focused on raising awareness of rare diseases. Through Driven Living, Eric is also raising funds for the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children (a.k.a. SickKids) to help better support rare disease patients.
