About
Driven by Passion
Eric Kunz is the 2024 Canadian TCA Champion, a title he earned after an incredible season in the Sports Car Championship Canada presented by Michelin (SCCC), the pinnacle of sports car racing in Canada.
Eric didn’t grow up at the track — he showed up at 17 with no pedigree, just pure determination. In five years, he’s gone from an arrive-and-drive karting rookie in 2020 to finishing his debut car season in 2023 as the SCCC TCA Vice Champion. He returned in 2024 and delivered, clinching the Canadian TCA Championship.

In 2025, Eric is taking the next step in his motorsport journey, joining Ricca Autosport and driving car #77 in the TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School championship. He’ll compete in a Hyundai Elantra N1 TC Evo as part of the Hyundai N Trophy Cup. This highly competitive series, part of the SRO Motorsports Group America paddock, showcases the best up-and-coming touring car drivers on some of North America’s most iconic tracks, including Circuit of The Americas, Sebring International Raceway, Barber Motorsports Park, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
This year, Eric is focused on learning from his teammates — the 2024 US TC and TCA Champions — gaining experience, and continuing to build toward his long-term goal of competing in IMSA.
Fueled by Resilience
Motorsport is beyond a passion. Eric has an extremely rare disease but when he’s behind the wheel, it all fades away. Ironically, the intensity of racing provides relief from his chronic pain. The moment the tires start to roll, the weight of his illness is replaced by joy, adrenaline, and deep gratitude for the privilege to race.

A purpose-driven athlete and SickKids Patient Ambassador, he’s not just chasing trophies — he’s using motorsport to inspire, advocate, and give back. Eric is also the founder of Driven Living, a not-for-profit organization that raises awareness for rare diseases and supports the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) through fundraising and community engagement. By bringing kids and families into the racing world, Eric aims to create uplifting experiences that offer a joyful escape — even for just a moment — from the weight of being a patient or caregiver.
